Baby Boy Shower SUCCESS!

So I am back from the dead, my faithful readers.  I haven't been able to log in for awhile and it finally let me on today- not sure what the deal was?

It's Thursday night and what should I be doing right now? Yes- cleaning, laundry, packing for our trip tomorrow (going to see the inlaws- 8 1/2 hours in our 2 door with our 85 lb dog) :)  but no, I am blogging because I'm so excited about the success of the baby shower a friend and I threw a fellow teacher at school today!

If you remember my previous blog, my friend's theme is brown and blue and sports (specifically football- stretch for me, as I cannot stand the sport). :)

Below are pics I took today before our staff came down- I can't take credit for most of this (I wish)- my friend did the majority of it.  She got most of her ideas from Etsy for her creativity and talent is all natural!

The amazing favors- picture didn't come out great, but they're little felt diapers with a pacifer hanging on it filled with candy (pacifiers were 2 lifesavers with a yellow jellybean- genious)

Activity for guests- make a onesie- "mom" picked her fave at the end.  It was one that said STUD and a picture of a muffin underneath. Pretty cute. :)

This is my favorite thing of the entire shower- my friend and co-host made this masterpiece.  Unreal.

The guests signed a football for the baby with our school mascot on the front- behind it is another adorable thing my friend made- baby socks and onesies- sport themed.

I had a blast with my friend Tracy crafting for literally....about 6 hours Saturday night for our friend's baby boy shower coming up in May. I handmade the pennant banner, even the letters- very time consuming but I like the way it turned out. Simple and cute.  The diaper cake was my first ever and I think it turned out great, as well!

The theme for the shower is blues, browns, and sports (specifically football)

I'm getting together this next Saturday with a good friend to plan a baby shower for another good friend at school.  We've divvied (how in the world do you spell that..) up the tasks for the shower- mine being the baby banner (pennant style) and the diaper cake (yikes!) While searching for other ideas, here are some things I've found, all courtesy of Mrs. Steward herself:

"Give wonderful new purpose to pretty fabric remnants by turning them into blankets for a newborn. They're super-easy to sew: Pair a lightweight fabric, such as cotton or seersucker, with thin flannel. Cut both into 34-by-45-inch pieces; pin with right sides facing. Machine-sew edges with a 1/2-inch seam allowance, leaving a 3-inch opening. Turn blanket inside out; hand-sew opening closed."

Calling All Baby Boy Shower Ideas!!!

So I am co-hosting my first official BABY shower for a dear friend of mine at work's first baby.  She teaches first grade and has become such a wonderful friend.  Another teacher on her team has so graciously asked if I'd want to help out and I am thrilled to have an event to be crafting for!

Now here's my problem- I've never done a baby shower! I need IDEAS!

Here's what I've got to work with:

• It's a boy
• Sports theme (primarily football)
• Browns and blues

The girl I'm hosting with and I are getting together tomorrow night for an idea share so tonight I'm coming up with a list of them.  Got any good ones?
