One Month Old!

Our sweet girl turned ONE MONTH on Wednesday the 17th!

As you can see she just had a BLAST with her photo shoot... :) For those not familiar, the giraffe is Libby- circa de 1987.

Age:  1 month!
Height:  20.5 inches
Weight:  7 lbs 14 oz

Milestones:  Nothing major since her 3 week update- waiting on that smile!
Sleep:  P had a few nights in a row of a 5 and 6 hour stretch that are sadly no more. :( She is very consistent with her 3-4 hour stretches between feedings.  Forget setting my cell phone alarm anymore- she is a human alarm! She continues to dream her days away- awake for brief periods of time.  My favorite is after she's eaten and she'll calmly just lay on me and look at me/look around.  I could sit with her like that forever- oh wait, I already do....! Best thing ever.
Eating:  Eating continues to go well- talked with her doctor today at her one month check up about her brief-ness of eating sessions and apparently she is "very efficient for her age." What every parent wants to hear- she is ADVANCED! haha ;)  Her weight gain is great, she just doesn't nurse for extreme lengths.  I appreciate her efficient-ness for sure. Thank you, P.

These are a few of her Favorite Things:

  • Bathtime went great today- thought she should be nice and clean for her appointment and there were no tears! Happy, happy girl. Would have taken a picture but when it's bathtime and is a one woman show... no way to take pictures, that's for sure!
  • She told me recently that Target is her favorite store. She's so smart.
  • LOVES her Vitamin D drops
  • White noise
  • Looking at faces

These are a few of her Not-So-Favorite-Things:
  • Tummy time continues to be a love-hate relationship.  I bought her a full length mirror that I lay sideways up against her crib and she has refused to look at it so far. We'll get there. :)

Best of Times:   Peyton spent her one month birthday in Topeka with Grammy (my mom) and her Great-Grandmother and Granddad.  We had a super nice time visiting and relaxing- P enjoyed being held by two very special people.

Peyton accompanied me to my hair appointment this week and did great- as well as my dental appointment.

Worst of Times:   Peyton is not a fussy girl but when she is, oh my- does that girl have a set of lungs.... nothing major in this department since her three week update.

Other Coffey House Updates:
  • Not much new here!  Busy, busy week here.  Started Parents as Teachers  (if you're interested... http://pat.smsd.org/pages/default.aspx)  this week and love her educator, Annie.  She is great and will be with us for 3 years! This will be a great program to help us keep track of P's development and what we can be doing to help her grow at home.
  • Lots of visitors continue! Have loved having people come to meet her.
  • Got back in the swing this week with our church small group- was great to be back. May even attempt church this Sunday...!
  • Starting to brainstorm what she'll be for Halloween... big decision, you know!
  • Looking forward to Nessa (Chris's mom) coming in town to visit Monday and Grandpa Mike joining her on Thursday!

And some pictures for the road...
