Age: 17 months (on January 17th- mama is late!)
Height: ?
Weight: Probably around 20-21 lbs- 18 mo appt next month!
Milestones:
- First haircut on 1-18! Had to do something about that mullet! Chris and I did it and I think it turned out well. Now we just need the top to catch up! :)
"You guys are going to do what..?"
- We're now saying "yes" or more like "yahhhh" to things instead of just no! :) Hallelujah! Even has the head nod down.
- First poop in the bathtub- dad was on duty that night, lucky Chris!
- Brushing her teeth now morning and night
- Goes down the stairs by herself- so funny, she'll turn around and start backing up feet from the stairs. Very cautious child.
- Sleeping 8 p.m. to 7:45-8 a.m. We continue to be SO lucky in this department- thank you, Peyton!
- Napping 12:30 or 1 for an hour and a half to 2 hours- sometimes more if mama gets lucky!
Eating:
- Still a great eater- has milk with her meals and water the rest of the day and with snacks. Loves mac and cheese, pizza, pasta- you know, all the healthy stuff. Does love most fruit and veggies depending on the day.
These are a few of her Favorite Things:
- Cell phones and remotes
- Indoor play places- we've been frequenting the indoor toddler play gyms often!
- Going down her slide from Christmas
- Wearing her hat and coat inside all the time- loves to put them on. She walks over to where we keep them, points up and says "ca ca" (for coat) and "haaah" for hat. What can I say, she's a hoot.
- Loves walking outside- will go get my boots and bring them to me. We've started playing a 'stop/go' game on the sidewalk and she loves it. Never too early to work on those listening skills ;)
- Obsessed with crayons and stickers- we spend a lot of time with these!
These are a few of her Not-So-Favorite-Things:
- Getting her hair washed/water on her face during bathtime- so sad, she'll sign over and over "all done"
- Being left- still working on getting her to be able to stay in our church nursery longer than 10-15 minutes. We'll get there eventually!
Best of Times:
- This kid gets more and more fun! I'm officially at the point where I wouldn't go back to when she was itty bitty. I love the stage she's in and is so much fun.
- We're loving her just being on one nap- opens up our whole morning for library story time, music classes, open gyms, play dates etc.
Peyton and friends Jaxon, Adelyn and Addy at Music with Mar (is held at a retirement home so I love it even more!)
Worst of Times:
- The joys of winter- Peyton had a touch of a cold (runny nose, scratchy throat) but didn't seem to make her feel bad. Chris and I both were hit with it and were both pretty sick for a week each. Is it spring yet?
Other Coffey House Updates:
- Chris starts teaching another Baker class this week!
- I am getting back into teaching for Baker, as well, in March. My class I developed and taught in 2013 is now online only- so will be converting my material to an online format that'll start March 7th. Excited to get back into teaching but nervous about the online/tech aspect of it. Glad I live with in home tech support! ;)
- My friend Megan and I (she has little Hugh) toured a Mother's Day Out program for the kids for the fall. They'll be in it together and I'm very anxious/nervous/excited for her to start in the fall. She'll go one day a week. Think this will be very good for her!
And some pictures for the road...
