20 months!

Age: 20 months
Height: ??
Weight: 22ish lbs (according to the scale at the veterinary office!)
Milestones
  • Words GALORE!!! New ones every day, can't keep up. So fun and so tiring. :)
  • Starting to put two words/thoughts together

Sleep:
  • Bedtime 8 pm... sleeps until 7:30-8 am
  • Naps: ugh... they've been shorter. But I'm thankful to have a child who naps. She does down at 1:30 and has only been sleeping until 3 if I'm lucky. Today she took a 2 hour and 20 minute nap and it was glorious! Hoping her naps stretch back out a bit.
Eating:
  • Still a great eater, thank goodness. Definitely a toddler though- eats a huge bowl of applesauce today... hates it tomorrow.
  • Favorite foods that she now requests constantly: "yaya" (yogurt)- "chichee" (cottage cheese)- "cra cra" (crackers)- "nuk" (milk)- "teeeet" (treat- which she rarely gets..!)- "shashaaa" (cereal) that she requests to have in a bowl with milk. And you better get it right.

These are a few of her Favorite Things:
  • Exhibit A, picture below: loves to take everything out of drawers. Her type A mom LOVES it. :)

  • Loves her friends and has started talking about them outside of playdates. Her best buddy is Hugh and she has talked about Hugh going "night night" for a week straight after he went down for a nap while we were there last week. Amazing what she's remembering now!
  • Loves the park and being "side" (outside)
  • LOVES to swing- the girl could live in a swing
  • Elmo! The girl has never seen Elmo on TV or even in a book, but attached to him at a friend's house. So what did I do? Broke down and bought her a small little plush Elmo. Hearing her say his name is the cutest thing. She is obsessed.
  • Shoes!
  • Books- favorites right now are Dada by Jimmy Fallon and Chicka Chicka Boom Boom that she calls "Chicka BOOM"
  • Scout- this girl loves her dog. Cries if she can't find him to tell him goodnight. He is a VERY important part of her going down for a nap and bedtime routine now.
  • Loves wagon rides- protests that she wants the wagon and not the stroller when we go on walks

These are a few of her Not-So-Favorite-Things:
  • Bad hair days, apparently. :)
  • Being denied a wagon ride.. poor thing
  • Chaos
  • When she's not allowed "yaya" (yogurt)- meltdowns..
  • Being left in the church nursery

Best of Times:
  • Oh my goodness, where do I begin. I feel like I always say this. Each stage with her is more and more fun. She is such a sassy, sweet, and smart little girl. I just love that her personality comes out more and more- or actually, I take that back- I think it is FULLY out. For better or worse- ha! :)
  • Her hugs and kisses
  • When she crawls up on my lap, wraps her arms around my neck and sucks her thumb- melt!
  • Loving being outdoors more- on our nice days we literally are outside constantly!
  • She's remembering people more and names- love that
  • She loves to hear me sing and is starting to request songs

Worst of Times:
  • I hate to say anything is a 'worst of times' but our child is emotional. And it can be very draining. God love her. :)
  • Whining/crying/fussing wears mama out
  • Newest thing (that I've ignored each time) is falling on the floor, crying and pointing to her head and saying "bonk" (like she bonked her head but really didn't)- She gets a C for creativity!

Other Coffey House Updates:
  • I'm coming up on my final week of teaching for Baker online (for this particular class)- have actually really enjoyed it! Staying busy with that, friends, and my Etsy shop
  • Chris is playing sand volleyball and I pray every week he doesn't end up in the ER :)
  • Had a nice weekend getaway to Salina last week for a wedding- Peyton had fun at her Grammy and Granddad's

And some pictures for the road...

Talent.

Sneaking cereal from the cabinet- one of her favorite past times...
