Peyton and Granddad
Peyton on my baby quilt at my parents- my Granddad's sister (my great Aunt Sarah) made this. After having made a quilt now (that was nowhere NEAR the complexity of this one) I have a whole new appreciation!
Milestones:
- Becoming VERY interactive- looks around at everything, tracks you around a room, super interested in everything around her
- Eye-hand coordination is getting better and better- loves putting her paci in and out of her mouth over and over
- Almosttttt there with rolling from her back to her tummy (see video at the bottom)
- Nowhere near close to sitting up and may never learn this skill as this child hates to sit 99% of the time
- We have HAIR coming in!! She was born with almost a full head of dark hair... all pretty much fell out.. and really this past month we have a full crop of light, fuzzy hair growing in. Woohoo!
Huge compliment to my grandparents here as she is sitting quite happily
This is a new thing- hilarious. When I read to her now, she'll stop and look up at me. It's like she's all the sudden realized it's me talking. She'll stare at you and do a razzberry or make noise. She's a hoot.
Sleep: Same routine here and (knock on wood) same great sleeper.... thank you to her Daddy. She goes down between 8-8:30 p.m.... I feed her still around 10/10:30 then she's out til between 7 and 8, usually closer to 7.
This baby loves her naps- she naps 3-4 times a day, usually 3. She takes two long naps- 1.5-2 hours each and her evening nap is usually 45 minutes. Allows mom to get lots of stuff done and for THAT, P, we thank you. :)
Eating: No news here! Will start on solids next month after she turns 6 months... I may cry then. Will start her on rice cereal mixed with milk (while still nursing throughout the day). She still eats every 3 hours during the daytime.

Love this sleeping position
Drool galore- no teeth yet! Whew!
These are a few of her Favorite Things:
- Her exersaucer- helps mom get dinner cooked! Miracle toy!
- Bouncing- this is new (or I should clarify, BEING bounced- we are not that advanced... yet ;) )
- Looking at and touching faces
- Toys- loves Sophie the giraffe to chew on
- Looking in the mirror
- Her carseat (in motion only) and riding in the car
- Being carried in our new Ergobaby carrier (thank you to Granddad and Grandmother for this amazing thing!) She can face outward in this one and loves it
- Standing up
- Napping
- Bathtime
- Reading books when she's in the mood
These are a few of her Not-So-Favorite-Things:
Best of Times:
- Holidays were a blast with her and she was such a good traveler
- Started going to "Baby Storytime" at the local library- it's basically 15 minutes of music/nursery rhymes and movement and then the last 15 minutes is socializing/playing. She loves it.
- Peyton smiles a lot now but still maintains some seriousness- no laughing yet.... she's hard to crack...
- Getting outside for a walk the other day in 65 degree weather in January- AAAAMAZING.... Peyton was looking around like "Where are we?!"
- Celebrated New Years with our good friends the Schultes at their lakehouse at the Ozarks (their two kids are 2 1/2 and 9 months)
Anderson Schulte and Peyton at the lake
Celebrating the new year with a mimosa and my favorite baby :)
Worst of Times:
- So I had the stomach bug in December and then Chris was hit this month. Not fun. But Peyton never got it and still has been healthy to this day (another knock on wood!)
Other Coffey House Updates:
- Chris starts teaching at Baker (a business orientation class) on Monday nights so excited for him with that.
- Our small group through church just added its newest member, Sawyer- the 5th baby in the group! (7 couples total)
- Scout is still alive.... :)
- Had our new neighbors down for dinner the other weekend- due with their first baby (a little girl, Atison) in May- more playmates!
And some pictures for the road...
