Gender REVEAL! Finally!

When we first scheduled our 'anatomy scan' and gender reveal appt. I thought, "Ugh... March 28th is so far away...!" and now it's come and gone! Amazing how time flies.

So the story of sweet baby girl Coffey goes like this:

We got to our appointment at four for our 4:10 dr. appt that was promptly cancelled (dr. left to do an emergency c section)... so I was a little frazzled by that but it's been rescheduled for April Fool's Day. haha :) We waited a bit then were taken back to the room with the sonographer who was WONDERFUL.  She spent so much time with us- about 30 minutes or so looking at every part of her, doing measurements, looking at her kidneys/bladder/heart (you could see all 4 chambers- amazing).  Everything measured great and she looked perfect- we were so thankful and relieved.  She's measuring on track for our delivery date and her heart rate was 145.

Chris and were both laughing as we got to see how very ACTIVE she is... already taking after her busy body mama.  The sonographer said that there's no such thing as an overactive baby and that they like to see them busier rather than not.  She was also quite stubborn in trying to get shots/angles of various body parts for measurement purposes- shocker there, too, right?

Chris and I went into the appt almost for sure it was a little boy so we were beyond surprised- I'm not a crier but had some tears as she told us we were having a girl.  Truly a dream come true, after having a healthy baby, of course.  Chris thought he saw a little boy part in the beginning and whispered to me that he thinks it's a boy for sure- so not sure what that little something was- haha we think the umbilical cord.

Random fun fact- found out that I have an "anterior placenta" which is totally normal, but it means that it's between my outer stomach and the baby- so I may not feel movements as early or as strongly in general (maybe a blessing?)  She thinks I'll start feeling her around 20 weeks (which will be this upcoming Friday).  Can't wait for that!

How we shared!:

We bought these two darling outfits at my beloved TJ Maxx and wrapped up the 'correct' gender one once we knew.

Right after our appt, we met my parents for dinner at the Cheesecake Factory and had my mom promptly open their big surprise.  The way we had the dress folded was perfect because it looked like a boy's polo at first- until the dress part dropped down!  My mom first thought it was a boy and then completely FREAKED when she saw the rest of the outfit and the little bloomers underneath.  It was pretty great.

I'd say that reaction was priceless!

We immediately headed out to a consignment sale in town at 9 am this morning to scout for some girl things.  I don't want to go nuts shopping or spending but couldn't resist a first trip out for our little girl.  We found nothing, as it was pretty picked over- and I am finding more and more how picky I am. Yikes. General dislikes include: princess themed items, animal print, and monkeys. lol

We headed to Ella's birthday party after that at 11 in Spring Hill (our great friends, Jen and John's little girl turned 2!) and got a peek into our future with little Coffey.  Super fun and adorably done party- Jen is super creative and everything was perfect.

We left there and hit up another store where we found these priceless little gems....
An outfit for next spring and her first bathing suit for our annual Florida beach trip!

I need to figure out a good way to get the sonogram pics uploaded- they are pretty cool.  We've had a blast sharing with everyone and are still in pink shock!

Gender Wishes

I got this from a little girl in my class today- absolutely adorable. Well, we know what her wish is! :)
I will do a "poll" with my class tomorrow to have them guess what Baby Coffey is then will figure out a fun way to tell them Monday.

Our wish? A healthy baby and that he OR she "reveals" him or herself to us! No hiding!

Our appointment is at 4:10 (sonogram) then doctor appointment to follow.  We'll meet my parents at the Cheesecake Factory after to share the news with them in a fun way- will post pics. :)

STAY TUNED!!! Here's to not sleeping tonight or being able to focus tomorrow!

Friday is the BIG day!!! Boy or girl?!

Ask Chris, I am literally counting minutes down to seconds I am so excited about finding out if little bean is a boy or a girl.

People have asked often what my 'feeling' is and my feeling is that it's a 50/50... lol but if I had to lean one way, I'd lean more towards boy.  But who knows?  Time will tell...!!!! :) :) All I can say is that I will be thrilled either way and am hoping for a healthy baby report.
Will be sure to update this ASAP after we find out, as well as Facebook.  Stay tuned!
