Tonight was my Dad's Silver Beaver Award ceremony at the Marriot Downtown- in a nutshell, he is a huge asset to the Boy Scout world and was recognized for his time and dedication tonight in a big and well-deserved way.
According to meritbadge.org (yes, I actually went to this site)... :) The Silver Beaver award is a distinguished service award ...
"The Boy Scouts of America recognizes the need to acknowledge the invaluable services that men and women render to youth. Of the millions of registered adult volunteers in Scouting, only a select few are presented distinguished service awards at these level: silver beaver, amongst others."
