Happy 2 Month Birthday, P!
Crazy to compare her picture from just a month ago to the one above. Starting to lose that 'newborn look' I think, don't you?
Age: 2 months!
Height: 21 1/2 inches
Weight: 9 lbs 4 oz
Milestones: We finally have SMILES!!! :) Her first official smile was on Oct. 2nd (not that I'm keeping track...) and happened on her changing table. She lovessssss that changing table. She smiles now pretty much only when she's there or in her crib- but she continues to be Miss Serious Business all other times of the day.
Sleep: We were getting a few 6 hour stretches a few weeks ago and those came to a halt. Unfortunately. She continues to be a great sleeper- goes down usually without a fuss and same story when I put her back down in the middle of the night after eating. Always thankful for that. She gets up twice a night with a 3-4 hour spread in between each feeding. She continues to sleep a ton during the day- this girl loves her sleep like her daddy. Doesn't get that from me!
Eating: All is well in that department- she continues to be a speed eater.
These are a few of her Favorite Things:
- Laying in her crib having "me time" lol- this girl likes her independence...
- Looking at faces- loves to look at you when you're changing her
- Lights
- The fan- her best friend
- Started to enjoy being held facing out- used to hate that
- Kicking her legs/moving her arms- this girl is on the move
- Being in her carseat/stroller
- Car rides
- Being talked to
- Has started to enjoy her activity mat in small doses
These are a few of her Not-So-Favorite-Things:
- Tummy time
- 2 month shots :/
- Having her clothes changed
Best of Times:
- Play dates with lots of boys- no girls yet!
- Visits to Topeka to see her great grandparents
- Fall weather/leaves changing
- First time being babysat by Grammy/Granddad (my parents) while Chris and I went out for the first time sans-Peyton- went to see Gone Girl (it's a must see)
- Visiting lots of new places with Mommy- she loved IKEA :)
- Got to meet her Great Aunt Gia and cousin Anna- as well as cousins Ashley, Chris, and 2nd cousin Holden
- Picked up the Coffey family cradle (more pics to come on that!)
- Many less tears during bath time these days!
Worst of Times:
- Started some fussiness during the evening so we implemented an earlier bedtime to combat it (and we knew we'd need to get her in a bedtime routine anyways sooner than later so why not now?) That has helped!
- She was a trooper for her 2 month shots today but I think she'd say it was the worst of times
Other Coffey House Updates:
- We've just been busy with every day things- not sure where the time goes. Just trying to soak up the fall before it's gone.
- Visitors: we have Chris's cousin, Stephanie and her husband Tyler coming in from Florida this Thursday evening- can't wait to have them here! Going to take P for her first trip to Louisberg Cider Mill. :)
- House cleaning- our church small group gifts a deep clean of your house for new babies and we had ours done today! They cleaned for over 4 hours and let me just say that our house will never be this clean again, I assure you. We are LOVING it. Such a nice gift from our friends.
- I will sadly have to start cooking at the end of this week... we have finally finished up the wonderful meals brought by friends/freezer meals I made pre-baby. Sad day, my friends... not sure if I even know how to microwave things anymore... we may starve...
And some pictures for the road... okay... a LOT of pictures.... hey it's a month's worth! :)
Peyton and Hugh to to Costco!
Peyton meets friend, Ben- she is 5 days older than him. He belongs to a college friend of mine, Mallory.
Smiles.... :)
Peyton and Hugh- love how he is flexing in this picture- what a doll.
Starting to enjoy bath time!
Chris's cousin, Ashley and her son, Holden- met them in Springfield to get the Coffey cradle (they live in Texas)- Holden is a month older than P
Got to change P in the car during our drive home from Springfield- always an adventure! Poor child.
Peyton goes to IKEA.... went there for lunch with friends of mine, Megan and Rachael and their babies.
Chris' aunt Gia and cousin Anna in from St. Louis
Visiting Topeka- my grandparents

Still not too interested in his sister but is tolerating :)

gorgeous day for a fall walk at Roe Park

Peyton and friend, Wyatt at Chic-fil-A
The chronicles of Scout... attempted to get into the gas medicine for Peyton.. nice try..
