Peyton is 4 Months!

Get ready for Peyton picture overload. If you don't have about four hours or so handy I suggest you read this later.

I can hardly believe the difference 3 months makes. It's insane. This was P in September (above)

And present-day P

This is how you'll find her these days- hands in the mouth.

And another size comparison to send the mom of this child into further depression...

Pretty, pretty girl

Age: 4 months... losing track of the weeks!
Height:  23 inches
Weight:  11 lbs 14 oz

Love her little tree in her room
Our plan is to get her a new ornament every year- eventually she'll get to pick out her own. :)

Have loved reading her Christmas books

Milestones:

  • Got to experience her first snow today! 12-18-14 She wasn't quite sure what to think. And yes I packed her up in her bouncer chair and took it outside. We'll see how rust-resistant this thing really is hehe..

  • Sleeping with her arms out of her swaddle- whew! Was terrified to transition her to this and it was no big deal. The picture below is from our monitor system- it's an app on your phone so you can take pics and video with it- pretty cool!

  • The babbling has begun and we love it! (videos at the bottom)
  • Really tracking you as you walk around with her eyes
  • Not really a milestone but her hair pretty much all fell out (a little left) and is slowly growing back in lighter
  • Making what I have dubbed as "razzleberry" sounds- apparently they're really called raspberries? Who knew? She just learned this with her Grammy the other day- was imitating her- and now literally does it nonstop. lol Spit flying everywhere let's just put it that way.  She's pretty pleased with herself and it's pretty cute...!
  • Grasping toys/semi-reaching for things

Sleep:

  • We have been majorly blessed with a good sleeper.  She goes down at 8:30 without a fuss, I feed her (what's dubbed in the baby world as a 'dream feed') at 10:30 or so and then she's out til usually 7, sometimes if I'm lucky 8 in the morning.  Her routine is the eat, sleep, play schedule- so she'll eat, be awake for an hour to an hour and a half, then nap for 1.5-2 hours.  And basically we follow that all day.  She naps best in her crib or carseat (for a baby on the go). :) Can't complain. The days where she's been fussier than normal I feel like the honeymoon is about to come to an abrupt end but it hasn't- so fingers will remain crossed!
Eating:  Like a champ!

Lovin' bathtime- and look! She knows the first letter of her name already... :)

Peyton and Hugh's playdate- are they cute or what?

These are a few of her Favorite Things:

  • Continues to enjoy her "me" time in her crib, on her activity mat, etc.
  • Changing table- the love continues...
  • Being talked to/talking back now
  • Bathtime
  • Looking at pictures
  • Toys- specifically her giraffe, Sylvie
  • Car rides/stroller rides
  • Being carried around the mall on mom's walks (sometimes a girl just has to come out of that carrier)
  • Really started enjoying toys
  • Kicking her legs/moving
  • LOVES to stand- don't make her sit or you will pay
  • Dancing to music- with mom's help, of course- she finds this pretty amusing
These are a few of her Not-So-Favorite-Things:

  • Being still
  • Laying flat/horizontal in any way that isn't her crib, play mat, or changing table
  • Being put in her carseat- golden once she's in it
  • Clothes over her head- especially when mom gets them stuck- not good...
  • Has started to notice when I walk away and will make it known that she'd like me to remain in the room- not always but sometimes
  • Tummy time is a love hate- she manages 5 minutes or so then is done- cute video at the bottom of her doing tummy time and talking to the mirror :)
Tummy time

Taking a nap on mom- my favorite thing- doesn't happen often but when it does, I'll take it!

Been working hard on her quilt- my friend Sarah taught me how to quilt. This is her big Christmas gift from us this year.  You can't see it but in one of the squares is a "P" :)
Best of Times:

  • Love, love the babbling- hilarious. It started with her doing it (about the beginning of December) only with her hand in her mouth... we decided it "aided" her in her communication skills... lol We've dubbed her the 'dolphin whisperer' (sounds like she's making dolphin or whale calls).
  • She's becoming more and more interactive- so cool.
  • Her smiles :) remains a more serious baby but when she gives them they are BIG!
  • Sharing the holidays with her- 10x better than any holiday before!
  • Spending lots of time with mom's friends and babies on playdates! We've become 'mall walkers.' Best way to get that exercise in in this cold weather!
  • Have made some Christmas crafts with her and has been fun doing the first of many projects with my future little artist
  • Going to meet Santa! Pics below
Worst of Times:

  • Hmmm.... I guess it's a good thing if nothing instantly comes to mind!  I guess I'd say the day where I had a massive headache and she practically refused to nap- very strange for her and was not good for her mama on that particular day.
  • Mom got a stomach bug (yuck) but Peyton and Chris didn't get it thank goodness.
Picked up this little activity table for her and she loves it.  Also loves to stand so it's the perfect mix!

Other Coffey House Updates:

And some pictures for the road... Warning: there are a lot... but you'll be rewarded with some videos at the end. :)

Meeting our friends' (Bryan and Nichole Schmidt) new baby, Mia- first time P has looked big to us! Sad! Promptly upon arriving to their house Peyton blew out all over her pants so got to borrow a pair of Mia's.  Very nice sharing friend already.

Showin' off that Christmas tree themed cloth diaper (just the color) :)

Below are pics from going to see Santa for the first time!

Having our pre-Santa pep talk. She listened to her mama and didn't scream or cry- another whew!

Now you can't tell me this is NOT the real Santa....

Granddad and Grammy came to watch

I know you were wondering "where's Scout?" Well, here you go....

Sweet little P

Checking out her new stocking at Grammy's

Big smiles

Hangin' with Dad

Now this is a typical look.... the death glare

Mom and I's baking day (please see our 'labor of love' cookies that took 200000 hours)

Mall walking pic- Peyton (the screaming one), Mackenzie (20 mo.) and Hugh (P's age)

Best Christmas card outtake award.... this picture (above) pretty much sums up this dog's attitude and life in general.

Another outtake that I just like :)

Sporting her Christmas Eve outfit

Getting these Christmas card pictures was no easy task....

So we moved the show to the changing table with much better results- started getting smiles so threw a red blanket over the changing pad and got some winners.

And some videos for your viewing entertainment...!

the dolphin whisperer speaks...
(this uploaded weird and has no sound... not happy- but is too big of a file to upload as a regular video)

This is one of my favorite things that P did when she was swaddled with her arms in- as soon as we would undo her swaddle, her arms would practically spring out. Hilarious and so cute.

Enjoying the mobile that her Grammy and Granddad got her- this thing could entertain her for hours!

Happy 4 Months, Peyton! We love you!!
