Spring Break in Greenville & Anna Maria Island

We had our first major trip with Peyton this past week and boy was she a trooper....!
Right before take off of her first flight!

I was a Matron of Honor in my friend Callie's wedding in Greenville, SC so that's where our adventure began.  We flew from KC to Chicago for our first leg- starting off with a bang by us asking a lady if she wouldn't mind moving to give me the window seat so I could nurse,,,, she hesitantly agreed and as she started to move to her seat Peyton prompted spit up literally all over the seat she was moving to. Lovely. :) She requested we clorox the seat so thank goodness I had my travel wipes on hand...

Her first flight went well overall- did have some crying that about set me over but really not bad.  Didn't get any death glares (that I was aware of).  We then flew to Charlotte... where the airline had put our carseat on a later flight into Charlotte- exhibit A of the loaner carseat below. They delivered it the next day.  We got in our rental and drove to Greenville for the wedding I was in.

Peyton's first wedding- she did great and my parents/Chris were a huge help with her while I was performing my matronly duties :)  She did get snatched up by a semi-random guest and whisked away- Chris ended up going after her.... people. lol

We left Sunday late afternoon for Tampa and thank goodness had a direct flight from Charlotte.   Peyton did really well on the flight- whew!  Mike and Vanessa (Chris's parents) picked us up and we headed to the beach house!

Checking out her new room- pretty excited!

We were at the beach Sunday through Friday (left Friday morning).  We enjoyed relaxing mornings at the beach and breakfast in, then back to the house for lunch... back to the beach, then out for dinner later!  Could no have ordered more perfect weather. Enjoy the 2,000 pictures from our trip!

wearing my old suit!

chillin at the airport
first day on the beach! PERFECT weather- high 70s and low 80s/sunny literally every day. Unreal.

Got to meet her great Uncle Gordon! (Mike's brother)

I forgot my green!

We got to watch lots of sunsets

Chris and his dad doing their annual cigar evening on the beach- Vanessa, P and I headed for the house :)

I love this picture!

attempting to do some solids- this girl still isn't crazy about them. About to resort to force feeding...

She loved feeling the sand and attempted to put it in her mouth- Dad to the rescue.

wish she had been looking here!

lots of reading with this sweet girl- new books from Nessa

Peyton caught a touch of something after our first night there- ran a fever off and on for 2-3 days, poor thing. Was a trooper and was just a little fussier than normal, upped her naps to 4 a day.  Took a break from the beach one of the days.

We had a wonderful time and perfect weather- oh and great food! :) Some of the faves were lobster and shrimp tacos, crab cakes, and calamari. Can't wait for Peyton to try some of this goodness when we go next year.

Peyton was the perfect traveler on our longggg travel day home- left the beach house close to 9 am Friday and flew from Tampa to Chicago, Chicago to KC with a 2 hour layover inbetween flights.  She literally did not fuss until the last 15 minutes of our last flight and oh my did she lose it.  The fasten seatbelts sign was on but that wasn't keepin' this mama in her seat, no sir.  A diaper change and change of scenery was helpful.  Using the lavatory "changing table" aka metal slab was quite the experience.  She had 2 major diapers on the 2.5 hour flight to Chicago- that was fun. :) We got back to KC Friday evening in time for dinner- we were wiped.  Picked up a Papa Murphy's pizza and salad, got her bathed and put to bed, then we put on Parenthood and were out cold by 10.

Fun, fun trips but so glad to be home! Thankful for a baby who slept well the whole trip and was probably a better traveler than her mom. :) Until next year, Anna Maria!
