Peyton's 6 (technically 7 month) Pictures!

As a part of our wonderful photography package from Chris's parents, we have newborn, 6 month, and 1 year photoshoots for Peyton.  We did these technically at 7 months to make sure she could sit up well.  The shoot went okay- little Miss P decided that smiling was overrated for these types of events so it was quite challenging to even get a smirk.  Kelci is so talented and captured some pretty cute ones.  Enjoy!

This was my dress as a baby

A smile- HALLELUJAH!

**one of my favorites**

Kelci likes to recreate similar poses with props etc. from shoot to shoot- look at this difference- wouldn't even know it was the same baby?!

7 months
9 days.  :( Where does the time go?

was obsessed with playing with this basket

Peyton's 1st Easter/Granddad's 94th Birthday

We had a wonderful past weekend filled with family and celebrations of many kinds! My grandparents came in from Topeka on Saturday to celebrate his 94th birthday then we celebrated Easter together on Sunday.  My brother was in town from Iowa, too.

Did an attempted photoshoot- everyone needed to be in the action apparently..! And Peyton enjoyed the celery...

Granddad with his loot! We gave him a new frame with a picture of him and Peyton in it.  My mom stocked him up on goodies.

Yummy Dairy Queen cake!

Uncle Scott helped entertain Peyton with packaging lol

And onto Easter...!

We went to the 9 am service so Miss P had to skip her morning nap (as she won't nap out and about- she's a crib girl these days).  So that was interesting.  Had a lovely service and Chris and I took turns walking her around.  She made it through, and took a 2.5 hour nap afterwards. Tired girl.  Had an incredible dinner (see below) made by my mom later in the afternoon, followed by our annual egg hunt between Scott, Chris and I.  Yes, we still do an egg hunt and it gets more violent every year. :)

How cute are these? Mom got one of them made for each of us. Dark chocolate- YUM!

Kept entertained with a spoon

Peyton wore my old dress :)
Me on the left, Peyton on the right :)

Opening her Easter goodies from her Grammy and Granddad

Chris and I got her a monogrammed Jellycat brand stuffed rabbit (AMAZINGLY soft brand of toy!)

You can see the P C D monogram on this one :)

We had a wonderful Easter! Hope you did, too. Can't wait for egg hunts with this little one next year!

7 Months Old!

Happy 7 months on the 17th to our P!

Age: 7 months, 31 weeks! (I use this calculator- pretty cool: http://babyparenting.about.com/library/blbabyagecalculator.htm)

Milestones:
  • Has been sitting up unassisted so well!
  • First plane ride(s)! (see my spring break post before this) or click here
  • Rolling all over the place and rotating a full 360
  • First time being sick :( Nothing serious, just a
Sleep:
  • Still great! 3 naps a day- morning, afternoon, and short evening
  • Sleeps 8-8:30 pm- 7:30ish a.m.
Eating:
  • Nursing every 3 hours (except after bedtime, of course)
  • Solids- interesting.  She is not super interested in these foreign foods right now... clamps her mouth shut and politely smiles and looks the other direction.  We're still doing fruits and veggies and just upped it to twice a day.  She LOVES her sippy cup with water but could do without the food- it pretty much just annoys her at this point. lol Oh well. She'll get there.
Packing for our spring break trips!

These are a few of her Favorite Things:

  • Going on walks- facing forward now in the actual stroller instead of in her carseat up top! Upgraded!
  • first time facing forward in her stroller with buddy Hugh
  • Bouncing- can finally touch the ground in her little 'jump up' (that hangs from the door)
  • TALKING- this child is a screech owl mixed with a marine animal- dolphin or whale most likely
  • Exersaucer- best $20 ever spent
  • Faces- loves grabbing your face, studying your expressions- now loves to grab hair, glasses, jewelry- watch out!
  • Bath time
  • Her sippy cup
  • Still LOVES her crib and being on the changing table
These are a few of her Not-So-Favorite-Things:

  • Being touched when she doesn't want to be- give the girl her space. Just like her mama. "Don't mess with me."
  • Clothes going over her head- still about 50/50 in this department when it comes to tolerance :)
  • Being put in her carseat- fine once she's there

Best of Times:

  • Her falling asleep on me on the plane- this child never cuddles or lays her head on me to go to sleep so I was in heaven. Amazing.
  • Getting her to the beach for the first time
  • Celebrating my birthday with her
  • Just spending my days with her in general- there are so many times I think throughout the day "oh my gosh- I can't believe I just get to DO this"- it's the best
  • Attending her first birthday party for 3 year old friend, Ella
Worst of Times:

  • Meltdown on the plane- mom's worst nightmare- you can read about that more in my spring break post ;)
  • Changing 2 blow outs on one flight on the "changing table" in the plane lavatory- what an experience
  • Her being sick at the beach- poor thing
  • Chris and I were both hit with the stomach bug a few weeks ago- Peyton dodged it yet again. Whew.
Other Coffey House Updates:

  • Spring has finally sprung in KC! Loving it staying light later, warmer weather, starting to take walks again- Scout appreciates it, too!
  • Chris got a promotion at work! Have to brag on him :)
  • Oliver (our rabbit) turns 7 years old here in a couple of weeks- oh, you didn't know we had a rabbit? Chris will tell you he's for sale for free.  I happen to love our senior citizen bunny.  :)
  • I ran over a razor blade driving to a friend's so now have to have 2 tires replaced- a week later Chris's wind shield got cracked while driving home on the highway. When it rains it pours.
  • Excited for Easter! Peyton will wear one of my old dresses- have loved that my mom saved all of these things.  Pretty fun to dress her up in them!
  • Peyton and I start a 1 month trial of mommy/baby yoga- should be interesting!
And some pictures for the road...

After Ella's birthday party

Wearing mom's old dress :)
