Peyton's 1st Thanksgiving/Weekend

We were in Kansas City with my family this year for Thanksgiving!  This little turkey fought naps and sleep in general for almost the whole day so that was interesting and provided us some nice background "music." :) We spent the day at my parents'  before heading to my mom's cousin Doug's house for an incredible meal (as always) with his family/extended family.

Hanging out with Great-Granddad

This angle especially shows off her poor shedding scalp. Good thing she's so cute. ;)

Attempting to nap. Not normally a predicament that we're in.

Taking a bottle from her Great-Grandmother

Her (goofy) second cousin once removed (right?) Austin knocked her out right before Thanksgiving dinner. Whew! :)

So I completely forgot to get a picture of the three of us with her dressed so ended up taking one after she had been put to bed for the night (sporting her new reindeer PJs...!)

Heading out Friday with this sweet P for Black Friday shopping! We shopped for almost 6 hours together. Gotta teach 'em young...

Smiles for Mommy

Saturday was spent with my best bud from college, Lindsay (Sherbert, now Murphy) from Junction City.  She had her little boy, Max, at the end of May and he is a DOLL. This was the first time she got to meet Peyton and the first time for the babies to meet!

Classic Peyton pic- happy little boy, freaking out little girl (now if she was being bounced and walked around in the picture all would be right in this world...) Don't you dare make this girl sit.

With Thanksgiving officially over, time to decorate! We bought this adorable miniature tree for Peyton's room the day after Christmas last year (4 days after we found out we were expecting!).  The train is handmade given to her by her Aunt Jen, Uncle Stephen, and cousins Rebecca and Jonathan (visited from DC last weekend).  Such a sweet gift.  She will LOVE this when she's older.

Got to bust out the Christmas books!:) :) Plan is to read at least one a day to her before the big day on the 25th.  Christmas is by far my favorite season and I'm beyond excited to share this special time with her.
Signature look- fingers/hand in mouth

Countdown til Christmas? 25 days. I'd say this little girl is excited. :)
Enjoy a little video of Miss P below...

Turkeys in Disguise

Aren't our turkeys in disguise great?  The kids did such a great job on these!  Each student got to share his/her turkey with the class and do a writing activity to correlate.  Be sure to stop by and check out our bulletin board outside our room! Thank you to all the parents for your help on this fun family project.
