Chris's Birthday

Chris had the big 2-8 on the 3rd! Officially in his upper 20s.... too bad I can't say that.. yet. :) I still hold that 27 is NOT upper 20s.

This was on his birthday when P and I went to visit him up at work- grabbed a yummy Chipotle lunch.Poor child's pants are hiked up pretty high there on the right. Sorry, P.

On the 5th (Friday), the plan was to go out for Jack Stack BBQ with my parents then back to our house for dessert. Well, that was all fine and dandy until I was struck with a lovely stomach bug that evening.  My parents still brought over (picked up) Jack Stack for them and Chris... at that point didn't know how bad my possible illness was.  As I continued to go downhill, we decided to hold off on gifts and dessert til a later date. :)

Mom and Dad ended up coming back over Sunday and celebrated then. :) Happy to report that my stomach bug was what I would deem an abbreviated one and Chris and Peyton never got it.  Whew.

Scout remains in denial

Made Chris's fave- mint chocolate chip ice cream cake- he's easy to please :)

First time seeing fire- think she was mesmerized

Happy Birthday, Chris! We love you!

Peyton's 1st Thanksgiving/Weekend

We were in Kansas City with my family this year for Thanksgiving!  This little turkey fought naps and sleep in general for almost the whole day so that was interesting and provided us some nice background "music." :) We spent the day at my parents'  before heading to my mom's cousin Doug's house for an incredible meal (as always) with his family/extended family.

Hanging out with Great-Granddad

This angle especially shows off her poor shedding scalp. Good thing she's so cute. ;)

Attempting to nap. Not normally a predicament that we're in.

Taking a bottle from her Great-Grandmother

Her (goofy) second cousin once removed (right?) Austin knocked her out right before Thanksgiving dinner. Whew! :)

So I completely forgot to get a picture of the three of us with her dressed so ended up taking one after she had been put to bed for the night (sporting her new reindeer PJs...!)

Heading out Friday with this sweet P for Black Friday shopping! We shopped for almost 6 hours together. Gotta teach 'em young...

Smiles for Mommy

Saturday was spent with my best bud from college, Lindsay (Sherbert, now Murphy) from Junction City.  She had her little boy, Max, at the end of May and he is a DOLL. This was the first time she got to meet Peyton and the first time for the babies to meet!

Classic Peyton pic- happy little boy, freaking out little girl (now if she was being bounced and walked around in the picture all would be right in this world...) Don't you dare make this girl sit.

With Thanksgiving officially over, time to decorate! We bought this adorable miniature tree for Peyton's room the day after Christmas last year (4 days after we found out we were expecting!).  The train is handmade given to her by her Aunt Jen, Uncle Stephen, and cousins Rebecca and Jonathan (visited from DC last weekend).  Such a sweet gift.  She will LOVE this when she's older.

Got to bust out the Christmas books!:) :) Plan is to read at least one a day to her before the big day on the 25th.  Christmas is by far my favorite season and I'm beyond excited to share this special time with her.
Signature look- fingers/hand in mouth

Countdown til Christmas? 25 days. I'd say this little girl is excited. :)
Enjoy a little video of Miss P below...

Peyton meets her cousins!

We spent this past weekend hosting Chris's oldest brother, Stephen, and his family (our sister in law, Jen, and our niece, Rebecca (7) and Jonathan (4)).  We were so appreciative of them coming out to meet Peyton all the way from DC.  It's a surreal thing to now be an active contributor to the cousin Coffey pool!
Aunt Jen, P, and big cousin Rebecca

Rebecca was so good with her all weekend.  Her and Peyton have the same age gap as my cousin, Julie, and I (I was the oldest cousin, too).

Rebecca reading Peyton her colors book

P and Uncle Stephen- he had the magic touch of putting her to sleep!

Can you guess what she's watching? Yep, the fan.

Love reading with these two

Hanging out with Rebecca and Peyton- this was right before Rebecca serenaded her with songs from Frozen (movie). So cute.

Love, love our girl and sharing her with people.

Life is so much sweeter!

And more 3 month pictures...and a video :)

So I forgot to add the pictures from my phone to Peyton's three month post (click here).... like I didn't have enough pictures in that post alone. Nope. Couldn't leave these out....!
Not sure why my phone edited Chris's teeth to be blinding white/glowing. Odd.

Is this a face or what

How P and I get things done- especially as the witching hour approaches...

Night out with my friend, Sarah- we've known each other since middle school! This was us at a wine and paint night.  Clearly we are gifted artists and these will go for a million a piece on Ebay.

Those legs are on the move...!

Hilarious- Granddad got P to sleep in this position- that is skill.

After bath pic (I really need to start having Chris take pictures of P and I together...!)

The first born getting some love, finally. Whether he enjoys it or not. :)

On a playdate with Wyatt- they're about a month or so apart.  His mom, Maureen, is a good teacher friend of mine and is a stay at home mom, too, now. :)

Peyton loves, loves to lay in her crib. This is her watching her mobile... or that's what she WAS doing before I busted out the camera then she was focusing on that. :)
