Peyton is 3 Months!

Peyton Day is 3 months old! To the right is her two month shot.

I'm going to go ahead and warn you that there is picture overload on this post. When you take 5,000 pictures of your kid it's hard to narrow it down. #momproblems

Little P loves to stand up- does a great job putting weight on those little legs.  We think she'll be walking soon... ;)

This is the face we get before a freak out

Age: 13 weeks/3 months

Height: Not sure! Next appt is in late December for her 4 month check up

Weight: Guessing around 10 lbs

Milestones:
  • Rolling over from tummy to back- can do it but definitely does not do it regularly
  • SLEEPING THROUGH THE NIGHT! Can I get a HALLELUJAH!?  The first time was Tuesday, November 11th (yes, I know the exact date- you would, too)- she slept from 10:30-7 something. She has also slept through the night the past four nights in a row!! So proud of our girl. :)
  • Grasping toys
  • Started in cloth diapers the beginning of November- they are going great and laundry is no big deal. Doing it twice a week and saving $$$ now not buying disposables.  And they are super cute. :)
  • Not really a milestone but her hair is falling out left and right! Poor thing has the patchiest head (if that's a word?)

Sleep:  See above.  She continues to be a great sleeper, still naps a lot during the day.  She goes down without an issue and we're in a full swing with her bedtime routine.  Love, love reading to her. She's also started taking naps in her crib during the day to start getting used to that down the road.

Sadly our morning walks have come to a potential seasonal end lately with this frigid weather... :(

Snug as a bug. This girl loves to be swaddled.

Eating:  Continues to be a speed eater- now likes to gaze up at mom and smile. Pretty cute but I have to ask her to please remain focused on the task at hand...

These are a few of her Favorite Things:
  • her "me time" (laying alone in her crib watching her mobile, on her activity mat, etc.- her mantra here is 'please don't touch me or mess with me- I'm busy')
  • being talked to- her facial expressions are a hoot
  • being carried around- this is a new one. loves seeing what you're doing- likes to be in the action and on the move...
  • enjoys bath time and doesn't cry a bit now!
  • looking at books- YAY!
  • can play 'airplane' now that her head control has gotten so good
  • indoor walks at the mall with mom and her friends
  • play dates
  • her paci
  • being in the Moby wrap
  • still loves to be swaddled (nightime only)

These are a few of her Not-So-Favorite-Things:
  • being held and not moving (she'll make exceptions now and then...)
  • being put IN the Moby wrap (happy once she gets there...)
  • extended tummy time- don't push it with her or you will get it....
  • red lights while driving- if she's awake and super alert, you better blow through those reds or you will have some background noise that you wished you didn't have (an angry backseat driver)
  • clothes being pulled over her head... MOVE BACK when this happens because this girl erupts. No bueno....

After a lunch date with Hugh, Megan, and my mom

Best of Times:
  • honestly, every day. I am obsessed.
  • Reading books
  • Having our 'conversations'
  • Play dates with friends
  • Heading into the holidays- can't wait to share them with her

Worst of Times:
  • Just googled the definition according to Wikipedia of 'the witching hour'- With a modern literal meaning of "midnight," the term witching hour refers to the time of day and night when creatures such as witches, demons, and ghosts are thought to appear and to be at their most powerful and black magic to be most effective--  yes, this is what happens at our house I'd say 50% of evenings... maybe less. It aint good, my friends... aint good.
  • Going through 2 outfits by 9 am thanks to blow outs

Other Coffey House Updates:
  • Chris went through the application process to be an instructor for Baker's MBA program (and undergrad) and was accepted! Very exciting and so proud of him.
  • Been busy with company- Coffeys in last weekend for her baptism and Chris's brother, Stephen and his family will be in this Friday for a long weekend from DC- these are the first cousins P gets to meet!
  • Scout is still being allowed to live here. hehe I'm kidding- he's been a good boy and we're getting along well.
  • Started going to the RezMom group at church downtown- they meet once a month and I went for the first time tonight (they bring in a new speaker/topic monthly).  I think it's going to be great. :)
  • Will celebrate Thanksgiving at my mom's cousin's Doug's house next week- pics to come!

And some pictures for the road...:

all dressed up

meeting her great-great Aunt Rosalie from Manhattan- Chris and I's 'honorary grandparent'

P and her great Grandmother- she had the magic touch with getting her to sleep!

sitting with mom

we like to arch our back if we don't like something...

chillin' with the big bro..

where'd she learn to stick her tongue out?

ohhh...now I see....

bedtime books with Daddy

This was funny- got P up in the morning and found her cloth diaper on like this.  Who put this on her? Oh, Daddy did? Needless to say we had a little lesson on this particular brand when Dad got home... :) Hilarious

Until next time!:) :)
