We just had a lovely weekend for Peyton's baptism. Mike and Vanessa (aka Nessa and Grandpa Mike) came in from Chicago, P's great grandparents from Topeka, and great aunt and uncle Mimi and Rod from Tulsa, and her great aunt and uncle Sandy and Brian (in town) were all present. Her uncle Scott (my brother) and even Bernie (his dog) made it from Iowa. So special to share this time with family!
Peyton wore my baptismal gown that my parents kept in mint condition- it was beautiful. I made her a headband to go with it and bought her some frilly little dress socks. Pretty fun. :)
before the service began
Peyton did great until the cold water hit her little head- it was tears from then on. Good story to tell later, right? And I'm sure God understood. ;) This is Pastor Scott, the COR downtown pastor doing her baptism. We had a really nice time meeting with him this past week to discuss her big day.
And of course once the baptism was over she was an angel. That's how it goes, right? Prep for the future...!
Holding her before the service- love those sweet smiles.
Meeting her great aunt for the first time!
