Just splurged and used one of my Barnes and Noble teacher gift cards to buy this amazing book (with even more amazing illustrations- watercolor and pencil):
I absolutely love this book and would recommend it to any elementary classroom. Here's the summary:
"In spring, when City Dog runs free in the country for the first time, he spots Country Frog sitting on a rock, waiting for a friend. “You’ll do,” Frog says, and together they play Country Frog games. I love both Muth and Willems but when I first read this book I wasn't that impressed. Then I read it to my students and I fell in love with it. Somehow reading it aloud made me able to see it more clearly.
