Father's Day/Grandmother's 85th Birthday/Peyton and Mommy Photoshoot

Long title for this post!

We spent Chris's first official Father's Day with my grandparents and parents in Topeka yesterday.  Got there around 2 and had a nice visit followed by a yummy dinner (where Peyton ate as much pork tenderloin, green beans, and apple sauce as any adult at the table...) and cake to celebrate Grandmother's 85th birthday. Peyton's first TWO bottom teeth showed their faces, too!

Always loves time with her great-Granddad.  Giving him a dental exam.

Loves her great-Grandmother, too- how lucky is she to have them?

Reading their cards

A little treat from my parents- just what every dad needs

Hilarious new book from Chris' parents by Jimmy Fallon

New reading material for Dad

Obsessed with the box from Grandmother's gift

Fun times in the box

Happy Birthday, Grandmother! Hope I look this good at 85! :)

For part of Chris's gift, a friend of mine (a very talented friend) so graciously did a little photo session with P and I in our backyard.  Gave us a disc of images- all in both color and black and white- and one of them all set to music.  Here are a few!

29/30 Week Update

Yep, there she is! Poppin' out! Hard to believe our little girl only has 9ish more weeks to cook (will be 31 weeks this Friday the 20th!) Time is FLYING..... thus the crazy work on the nursery among other things!

Her nursery is coming along....!

Latest additions include her pillow that I am in love with- was going to make the cover but happened to find this in her colors at Hobby Lobby (without the dog).  I  bought pink felt, cut out the dog silhouette, and sewed it on- labor of love.... took a little while!

Have also been shopping for lamps and haven't found the ones I liked- so decided to make them.  Bought ribbon and plain shades, then hot glued the ribbon on.  The bases we found at Target.

Mirror is hung!

And oh yes, big brother Scout is still here- he doesn't get as much air time anymore, poor guy.  He's loving summertime- laying on his back, chewing, and playing outside. We need to get him to the dog park to swim!

Onto Father's Day! We had a lovely day in Topeka with my grandparents and parents.

Granddad got spoiled with some nuts and some yummy goodies from Trader Joe's. :)

Chris had a special delivery from baby...

"Dad's Number One Fan" onesie that she can wear on this day NEXT year...
My Dad's the Coolest book with a note on the inside from her

Dad loves his new shorts from us- it's the little things, right? :)

Checking out the baby gifts.

Baby-related updates:
  • All check ups have been very happy and good! :) My doctor says she's measuring on track and is pleased with how everything is going.
  • I am feeling great- thank goodness.  So fortunate.  My energy is pretty good overall and my sleep is hit and miss- have definitely started the once-a-night visit to the bathroom this past week.  No major discomforts or issues.
  • Started prenatal yoga with my friend Megan- we go 3-4 times a week and it's quite a hoot.  Definitely very mind and body but have learned a lot- especially some good stretches to help when I have shortness of breath/tightness (little girl is starting to crowd things a bit I think).  Have met some nice ladies, too.
  • I now go in every other week until 36 weeks (I think) where I'll start going weekly.  Last time I was in I scheduled the rest of my appointments... only 6 to go- SCARY/CRAZY!
  • Chris and I started reading Happiest Baby on the Block and will read Babywise after that.  We know that no amount of reading will prepare us but it'd be nice to be familiar with terminology and to have some tools in the tool box to attempt and try with our screaming infant. :)
  • We are interviewing a pediatrician Wednesday afternoon.
  • I start tutoring this week!
  • Current nursery projects:  her closet!  I'm going to make a mobile for her and maybe a banner.... also need to work on what will go above her crib and on her shelves in general.
  • She is movin' and grovin'- we can now see movement from the outside (no hands moving across my stomach or anything like that- may not see that at all with the anterior placenta).  She loves to move first thing in the morning when I wake up, anytime I'm sitting still (not often for those who know me) and when I get in bed at night.  She loves my right side (I rarely feel her on the left) and she enjoys creeping into my ribs- weirdest feeling ever.
  • Name:  We THINK we have it. :) And yes, it's a secret.  Such a big decision- lots of pressure.

Will update soon!  :) :) Love from the Coffey Bean!
